With your support, Olympic Neighbors is able to make an impact and significantly improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities. Our first project “Hamilton House” already has two residents while we await state licensing. You can see the impact it is already having on Chris’s life.
“Chris is proud of his independence, but living alone has sometimes been too lonely. “I’ve spent a lot of holidays on my own and I didn’t like it.” Sharing an Adult Family Home with other people living with developmental disabilities will add new opportunities for companionship to his life. “I’m not going to be by myself on Christmas this year. Good! There’d better be something good to eat, too.” He says he is glad of the company, but doesn’t want to give up his independence, either. “If someone tried to tell me when to go to bed or wake up, I would say, ‘Forget it!'”
Ways to Support Olympic Neighbors Olympic Neighbors is dedicated to creating home and community for people with developmental disabilities. We depend in large measure on contributions from interested friends, families, corporations and foundations to fulfill our mission. We hope the following information will be useful as you consider how and to what extent you are able to support Olympic Neighbors. We are a 501(c)(3) organization so contributions are tax-deductible. Gifts of Cash Gifts of cash are the easiest and most direct way to make a contribution and are fully tax deductible for individuals itemizing their income tax return. If you make a cash or credit card gift you will be eligible to deduct the full value of your gift. IRA Distributions
Required minimum distributions (RMDs) must be taken each year from an IRA beginning with the year you turn age 70 ½. A “qualified charitable distribution” is a way to transfer directly all or part of the RMD from your IRA to Olympic Neighbors without increasing your adjusted gross income. Please consult your financial advisor about this donation method. (IRA Pub 590-B)

Gifts of Securities (Stock)
Gifting stocks or bonds that you have owned for at least one year are eligible for a deduction for the full mean market value of the security on the date that Olympic Neighbors receives it. You not only receive an income tax deduction for the full fair market value, you also avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Matching Gifts
Many employers (or former employers if you’re retired) will match charitable contributions. This can increase you gift. Obtain a matching form from the human resources department and enclose it with your donation to Olympic Neighbors. Note: Matching gift form button needed.
Wills and Bequests
Planned gifts can be a significant way to gift funds to Olympic Neighbors.
